It's a stark depiction of Batman that we haven't yet seen before. He's moody. He's grumpy. He's very lonely. And he's also ridiculously funny!

Will Arnett shows off a certain man-child charm as he voices the toy-sized caped crusader in the newly-released Comic-Con trailer for "The Lego Batman Movie," the highly-anticipated animated comedy that comes from "Robot Chicken" director Chris McKay and "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" writer Seth Grahame-Smith.

The film, which is obviously a spin-off of "The Lego Movie," follows the day-to-day life of Lego Batman as he reluctantly becomes the father of a young orphan boy (voiced by Michael Cera), who later would become his overly enthusiastic sidekick, known to the world at large as Robin.

The voice cast also includes Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Mariah Carey as Gotham's Mayor Grange, and Zach Galifianakis as the Joker.

"The Lego Batman Movie" will open nationwide on February 10, 2017.

synopsis:
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made "The LEGO Movie" a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble -- LEGO Batman -- stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker's hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
