You may have heard the story before. But you've never seen it told like this.

Guy Ritchie, the visually-kinetic director who reimagined Sherlock Holmes as an action hero, is putting his own spin on the classic myth of King Arthur and his sword in an upcoming medieval fantasy movie that features former "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam in the title role.

The film's first official trailer just made its world premiere at Comic-Con this year, and it offers the first look at Hunnam as Arthur Pendragon, a modest Englishman whose life rapidly changes when he pulls a mythical sword out from a stone and learns of his secret royal bloodline.

Jude Law co-stars in the film, as the main villain, Vortigern, Arthur's power-hungry uncle who stole the crown and currently rules the country with an iron fist.

In addition to Hunnam and Law, the cast also includes Eric Bana, Djimon Hounsou, Annabelle Wallis, Aidan Gillen and Michael McElhatton.

"King Arthur: Legend of the Sword," which is said to be the first of a possible series of films, will arrive in theaters next year.

synopsis:
Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword." Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur's journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthur's father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy ... whether he likes it or not.
