A family moves into a creepy old house and discovers the attic is filled with creepy old things -- What could possibly go wrong? "The Remains" doesn't seem to be breaking new ground here, but it may have enough jump scares to please a less-demanding horror audience. Check out a newly-released trailer for the indie ghost flick.

Starring True Blood's Todd Lowe as a man who moves his entire family into an old-fashioned Victorian home, only to discover the house has a very dark history, "The Remains" is written and directed by former production assistant-turned-first-time feature filmmaker Thomas Della Bella.

Also starring Samuel Larsen, Nikki Hahn, Lisa Brenner, Brooke Butler, and Ashley Crow, the film will be released on August 5.

synopsis:
After a family moves into an old Victorian home, they discover a chest in the attic containing antiques tainted by a malevolent spirit. As the antiques slowly possess each family member, the spirit hellbent on kidnapping the children.
