Newly-minted Emmy nominee for "The Night Manager" Olivia Colman and Tom Hardy are singing a different sort of blues in the new U.S. trailer for the grim musical drama "London Road."
Based on real events and set in a sleepy tight-knit English community, "London Road" is the film adaptation of an acclaimed British stage musical from London's National Theatre.
Written by Alecky Blythe with music by Adam Cork, the musical is sung with a kind of spoken-word tempo as it tells the somber story of how a small English town attempted to heal itself after learning the shocking 2006 arrest of one of its residents: real-life British serial killer Steve Wright.
Featuring the original London cast, the film is directed by award-winning theater director Rufus Norris, who previously made his feature film debut with the 2013 acclaimed Tim Roth-Cillian Murphy-starrer "Broken."
"London Road" will be making its way to the States in September, opening in select theaters.

LONDON ROAD tells the moving story of a community coming together during the darkest of experiences. It is based on the true events that occurred in 2006, when the town of Ipswich was shattered by the discovery of the bodies of five women. When a local resident was charged, and then convicted, of the murders, the community grappled with what it meant to be at the epicenter of this tragedy. The film uses the actual words of the residents of London Road, set to an innovative musical score, to tell this gripping story in an extraordinary way.
