Emily Blunt finds herself getting emotionally (and later, directly) involved in the investigation of a missing woman in the new trailer for the hotly-anticipated film adaptation of Paula Hawkins' best-selling mystery-thriller novel "The Girl on the Train."

Blunt plays Rachel Watson, a seemingly ordinary train commuter who claims to be the last person to see a woman (Haley Bennett) before she disappeared. However, when the police investigation (led by Allison Janney in full-on "Columbo" mode) uncovers a strange connection between her and the missing woman, Rachel becomes the prime suspect in the woman's murder -- dun-dun dUUUN!

Also starring Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Rebecca Ferguson, and Edgar Ramirez, the sexually-charged mystery thriller was adapted by screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson (Secretary, Chloe) and is helmed by "The Help" and "Get on Up" director Tate Taylor.

"The Girl on the Train" will be hitting theaters October 7th.

synopsis:
In the thriller, Rachel (Blunt), who is devastated by her recent divorce, spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day, until one morning she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds.
