Winner of the Audience Award at this year's SXSW Film Festival, "Transpecos" is a tense thriller about three border patrol agents who find themselves locked in a nerve-wracking confrontation with each other after stopping a car containing a large cache of illegal drugs from crossing the Mexico-Texas border.

Starring Clifton Collins Jr. (Triple 9), Gabriel Luna (True Detective), and Johnny Simmons (The Phenom), the film marks the auspicious feature debut of filmmaker Greg Kwedar, who's been praised for effectively creating an unfolding "what-would-you-do" scenario that dances on the line between right and wrong.

Co-written and co-produced by Kwedar and Clint Bentley, "Transpecos" will be getting a theatrical release on September 9. It will also be released on iTunes and VOD on that same day. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
Depicting corruption as unavoidable as the desert heat, TRANSPECOS is a tense thriller that puts the audience in the shoes of three border patrol agents who man a check point on a remote highway. Rookie Davis (Johnny Simmons) and seasoned Flores (Gabriel Luna) work with the callous, world-weary Hobbs (Clifton Collins Jr) to round out the trio. On what feels like another routine stop, the contents of one car will throw their lives out of control. As dark secrets are revealed, each passing hour will bring them closer to a nightmarish conclusion that could cost them their lives, in a world where the line between right and wrong shifts like the desert itself.
