Legendary filmmaker Terrence Malick makes his first foray into documentary filmmaking -- and whaddya know, he's taking you on a cinematic journey through "the past, the present, and the future."

So, strap yourself in and hold on tight! And check out the debut trailer for "Voyage of Time," Malick's much-awaited IMAX documentary, which is exploring the mysteries of the universe in the only way the director can: with unbelievably striking visuals and with an audaciously written narration: "Experience the unfolding of time."

Brad Pitt narrates the 40-minute IMAX film, which will be released in the giant-screen format on October 7.

An extended, 90-minute version of the documentary -- which has long been a passion project of Malick -- will supposedly feature a new narration by Cate Blanchett and will be released at a later date.
