Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks seems to be bringing in another brilliant performance in his latest film "Sully," portraying the hero airline pilot in the title role as Captain Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger. Check out the first trailer for the upcoming biopic, which is directed by five-time Oscar-winner Clint Eastwood.

The film focuses on the frigid afternoon flight in January of '09, where Captain 'Sully' Sullenberger made an ultimate life-saving decision to make an unorthodox emergency water landing on the Hudson River, which eventually saved the lives of all his 150 passengers and crew. But not long after being celebrated for his heroics on the doomed flight, a federal investigation began, which landed 'Sully' in the hot seat after several of his fellow airline pilots disagreed with his judgment call to land his plane on the river in the first place.

The film, written by Todd Komarnicki, is based on the autobiography "Highest Duty" by Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. The film also stars Laura Linney, Anna Gunn, Autumn Reeser, Holt McCallany, Jerry Ferrara, Sam Huntington, and Aaron Eckhart as Sullenberger's co-pilot Jeff Skiles.

"Sully" is set to soar into theaters on September 9th.
