Check out a newly-released trailer for the forthcoming adaptation of English author Arthur Ransome's classic 1930 children's book "Swallows and Amazons," starring Boardwalk Empire's Kelly Macdonald, The Big Short's Rafe Spall, Sherlock's Andrew Scott, and Shaun of the Dead's Jessica Hynes.

The film follows a British mother (Macdonald) and her four rambunctious children as they spend the summer break at a farm house near a quite rural area with lakes and lush greenery, known in England as 'The Lake District.' While playing around, the children sail to a tiny secluded island, where they soon claimed the land for themselves. But when they discover a grouchy mysterious man (Spall) has already been living there in a small houseboat parked just a stone's throw away from the shoreline, the kids make it their mission to spy on him.

Directed by BAFTA-winning TV director Philippa Lowthorpe (Call the Midwife) and written for the screen by screenwriter Andrea Gibb (2005's Gerard Butler-starring drama "Dear Frankie"), "Swallows and Amazons" will be released in the U.K. on August 19th.
