Here's a brand-new trailer for the upcoming disgruntled-student-versus-mean-principle comedy "Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life," based on the best-selling 2011 children's novel from prolific writer James Patterson.

Starring Griffin Gluck (ABC's Red Band Society), Thomas Barbusca (AMC's Preacher), and comic actor Andrew Daly (Comedy Central's Review), the movie is about a fed-up sixth grader who teams up with his best friend on a rebellious quest to violate every rule in their school's Code of Conduct, pissing off their controlling principle in the process.

Also among the cast are Lauren Graham, Adam Pally, Rob Riggle, Efren Ramirez, Laura Kightlinger, and Retta.

Directed by Steve Carr (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Next Friday), "Middle School" will be hitting theaters on October 7.

synopsis:
Rafe has an epic imagination...and a slight problem with authority. Both collide when he transfers to an oppressive, rule-crazy middle school. Drowning in do's and don'ts, Rafe and his scheming best friend Leo hatch a plan to break every rule in the school's Code of Conduct. It's Ferris Bueller meets Home Alone as their battle with Principal Dwight explodes into chaos both real and imagined. But Dwight displays his own fiendish creativity, striking back at the rulebreakers. Meanwhile, Rafe struggles to hide his misbehavior from Jeanne, the straight-A, overachieving girl of his dreams, and at home, his mother's boyfriend -- a moochy, jack-of-no-trades named Bear -- threatens to become his stepfather.
