After a four-year break from films, shock-rocker/filmmaker Rob Zombie is returning this year, once again rewriting the rules of horror for what is being described as "his most twisted film yet!"

Check out the very first trailer for Zombie's Halloween-set horror flick "31." It's a nightmarish hellscape about a group of carnival workers forced to participate in a sick, perverted 12-hour survival game, which is being run by a family of killer clowns.

Featuring an eclectic cast of character actors that includes Richard Brake (Batman Begins), Tracey Walter (The Silence of the Lambs), Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Lords of Salem), Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (Welcome Back, Kotter), Meg Foster (They Live), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange) and, of course, Zombie's frequent leading lady and real-life wife Sheri Moon Zombie, the film was initially financed by a crowdfunding campaign back in 2014. And it went into production early 2015 and then premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival.

"31" is currently scheduled to be released on September 16th.

synopsis:
From the visionary mind of the man who brought us House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects and Halloween comes the horrific story of five carnival workers who are kidnapped the night before Halloween and held hostage in a large compound. At the mercy of their captors, they are forced to play a twisted game or life or death called 31. For the next 12 hours they must fight for their lives against an endless parade of homicidal maniacs.
