Tackling a remake of the Oscar-winning 1959 epic "Ben-Hur" will be an incredible task of biblical proportions. But as seen in the latest trailer, producer Mark Burnett is lucky enough to have "God" on his side -- along with Morgan Freeman and British actor Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) who tries to fill the sandals of Charlton Heston as Judah Ben-Hur in the action remake.

The latest trailer shows many new scenes from the upcoming retelling, based on Lew Wallace's timeless novel, "Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ." The film tells the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Huston), a Jewish prince who is betrayed by his adopted brother, Messala (played by Toby Kebbell) and thrown into a life of slavery, where he will, in time, overcome to have his revenge and eventually redemption as a chariot race champion.

Directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), "Ben-Hur" co-stars Pilou Asbaek, Nazanin Boniadi, Ayelet Zurer, James Cosmo, and Rodrigo Santoro as Jesus of Nazareth. The film is set to arrive in theaters on August 12th.

After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption. Based on Lew Wallace’s timeless novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ.
