HBO has released the official trailer for the eight-part murder mystery drama "The Night Of," which hails from Oscar-winning screenwriter Steven Zaillian (Schindler's List, Searching for Bobby Fischer) and crime novelist/screenwriter Richard Price (Clockers, The Wire).

Starring New York's own John Turturro and British actor Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler, Rogue One), the limited series revolves around a complicated murder investigation, in which a seemingly guilty New Yorker (played by Ahmed) is accused of brutally killing a woman in his bedroom. Turturro plays the accused murderer's lawyer, a street-wise defense attorney operating by one simple rule: "Don't talk to anybody, anymore. Shut it!"

Loosely based on 2008's Peter Moffat-created British series "Criminal Justice," the upcoming drama was originally executive produced by the late "Sopranos" actor James Gandolfini, who actually starred in the now-scrapped pilot episode. After Gandolfini's untimely death in 2013, production was halted for the time being. Turturro was then hired to take over Gandolfini's role as the lawyer, reshooting a brand-new opening episode.

Co-starring The Wire's Michael Kenneth Williams, "The Night Of" is directed by Zaillian, who also co-wrote the eight-part series with Price. It's due to premiere on HBO starting Sunday, July 10th.
