Disney's Moana — Teaser Trailer

Disney has released the first trailer for "Moana," the animated Hawaiian musical featuring the voice talents of action star Dwayne Johnson, newly-minted Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (of "Hamilton" fame), and 14-year-old newcomer Auli'i Cravalho, who won the lead role of Princess Moana Waialiki after an extensive audition process last year.

Co-written and directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the writing and directing team behind Disney's classic animated blockbusters "The Little Mermaid" and "Aladdin," the upcoming 3D animated adventure tells the story of a brave Polynesian princess, named Moana (Cravalho), who sets out to save her people, embarking on a heroic voyage to the Pacific Islands, where she befriends a legendary demi-god, named 'Maui' (Johnson), who winds up becoming her spiritual guardian against mythological monsters and other curious obstacles.

Also featuring the voices of "Hamilton" star/singer Phillipa Soo and an original music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Samoan singer/musician Opetaia Foa'i and Grammy-winning composer Mark Mancina, "Moana" will be released later in the year, during the Thanksgiving holiday break, starting on Wednesday, November 23rd.

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped -- and no one today knows why.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes "Moana," a sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors' unfinished quest. During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.
