Could this show be your new TV addiction? Well, if you're looking for a hair-raising horror series about demonic possessions and exorcisms -- we can't think of a better cable show that offers more bang for the buck.

Check out a featurette for Cinemax's new creepfest "Outcast," created by executive producer Robert Kirkman, the comic-book mastermind behind "The Walking Dead."

The series, based on the comic book of the same name, stars Patrick Fugit (Gone Girl, Almost Famous) as a young man in West Virginia trying to forget his troubled past but finds himself confronting it when he starts to help an evangelist minister (played by British actor Philip Glenister) to perform amateur exorcisms.

Also starring Wrenn Schmidt (Boardwalk Empire), David Denman (13 Hours), and Reg E. Cathey (House of Cards), the pilot episode, which was helmed by horror director Adam Wingard (You're Next), just aired last Friday. The series, which has already been renewed for a second season, will continue its run on Friday nights, on HBO's sister network, Cinemax.

synopsis:
The series follows Kyle Barnes, (Patrick Fugit) a young man who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a journey to find answers but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.
