For his first foray into television, writer-director Cameron Crowe is going back to his rock-n-roll roots, teaming up with executive producers J.J. Abrams and Winnie Holzman (creator of "My So-Called Life"). The series is called "Roadies," and it's for the premium cable channel Showtime. And as you might have guessed from the title, the show centers on the lives of several "roadies" (concert technicians who set up the equipment for a touring rock band) who come together to form a kind of dysfunctional surrogate family.

Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino and Imogen Poots lead the ensemble cast of the 10-part dramedy series, in which Crowe writes and directs the opening episode. While, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Luis Guzman, Peter Cambor, Ron White, Rainn Wilson, and rapper-turned-actor Machine Gun Kelly round out the cast.

"Roadies" will start airing on Sunday nights, beginning June 26th. Showtime has recently released a new second trailer, watch it above.

synopsis:
Created by Oscar-winner Cameron Crowe, ROADIES is an insider's look at the reckless, romantic, funny, and often poignant lives of a committed group of "roadies," who live for music and the de facto family they've formed along the way. The music-infused ensemble comedy series chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music's unsung heroes and puts the spotlight on the backstage workers who put the show on the road while touring the United States for a successful arena-level band.
