A beta test for a new state-of-the-art virtual reality video game turns into a body-strewn battlefield in the new U.S. trailer for the futuristic action thriller "The Call Up."
When a selected group of video gamers are summoned to beta test a highly advanced virtual-reality combat game, they quickly discover their high-tech gamer suits are designed to give the user an all-too-real experience. If a person dies in the game, then that person dies in real life. And the last player left standing will be awarded 100 thousand dollars. Have fun playing the game!
"The Call Up" is the feature film debut of British commercial director Charles Barker, who also wrote the screenplay. The film, which was just released in the U.K. last week, stars Christopher Obi, Morfydd Clark, Max Deacon, Parker Sawyers, and Tom Benedict Knight.
"The Call Up" will be released in the U.S. on June 24.
