It was one of the breakout hits at this year's Sundance Film Festival: "The Land" is an inner-city, coming-of-age drama executive produced by the rapper Nasir "NAS" Jones and written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Steven Caple Jr.

Set in Cleveland, the film follows a group of local teenage skateboarders -- played by newcomer Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Moises Arias (The Kings of Summer), Rafi Gavron (Snitch) and newcomer Ezri Walker -- as they turn to drug dealing after stumbling on a stolen duffle bag filled with ecstasy pills, commonly known on the streets as "Molly." Think last year's Sundance hit "Dope" but without the quirky charm.

IFC has released a new full-length trailer for the upcoming indie film, which co-stars Natalie Martinez, Michael Kenneth Williams, Kim Coates, Linda Emond, and singer Erykah Badu and rapper Machine Gun Kelly, who both contribute songs to the film's soundtrack, which also features new music by NAS and Kanye West.

"The Land" will be hitting theaters and VOD on July 29th.

synopsis:
Teenage buddies Cisco, Boobie, Junior, and Patty Cake skateboard the streets of Cleveland, Ohio, dreaming of getting discovered by a sponsor and skating their way out of poverty. That is until the boys discover a bag full of pills in the back of a stolen car. Cisco’s entrepreneurial instincts take over, and in a flash their lives get better. But no one counted on having to come face to face with the cold, calculating, and notorious drug queenpin, “Momma,” who runs the toughest gang in town.
