Netflix has released the official U.S. trailer for the third season of the critically acclaimed British gangster series "Peaky Blinders," which will be making its U.S. debut at the end of this month.

Created and written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises), the 1920s-set drama -- which is sometimes referred to as the British equivalent of "Boardwalk Empire" -- stars Irish actor Cillian Murphy (In the Heart of the Sea) as Tommy Shelby, a former decorated WWI hero turned leader of a menacing street gang/organized crime syndicate called the Peaky Blinders.

"Mad Max" star Tom Hardy, who is currently working with Knight on his yet-to-be-released FX series "Taboo," returns this season to reprise his role as Alfie Solomons, the volatile leader of a local Jewish gang.

Directed by Tim Mielants and also starring Helen McCrory, Jan Bijvoet, Finn Cole, Annabelle Wallis, Ralph Ineson, Paddy Considine, and Paul Anderson, the British series has already started airing in the U.K. but is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on Tuesday, May 31st on Netflix.
