King Kong ain't got nothing on Bill Paxton! Check out an early peek at the new gritty cop series based on the 2001 blockbuster "Training Day."

Featuring all new characters, the action drama stars Paxton as Frank Rourke, a veteran LAPD detective who frequently bends the law to suit his purposes. While newcomer Justin Cornwell plays Frank's newly appointed rookie partner, Kyle Craig, a straight-arrow and uncompromising officer who's getting some rather unconventional on-the-job training.

Executive produced by mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer and written by Will Beall (Gangster Squad, Castle), the series also stars Katrina Law (Arrow), Julie Benz (Defiance), Lindsey McKeon (Supernatural), and Drew Van Acker (Pretty Little Liars). Danny Cannon (Gotham) directs the pilot, and will also serve as an executive producer alongside filmmaker Antoine Fuqua.

"Training Day" will premiere on the CBS fall schedule as a midseason show.
