AMC has released the first four minutes of the much-anticipated supernatural horror-comedy series "Preacher," starring Dominic Cooper as small-town Texas minister Jesse Custer, who merges with a fleeing supernatural entity.
The series, which also stars Ruth Negga as Custer's criminal ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and Joseph Gilgun as an Irish traveler, Cassidy, is based on the cult comic book by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon.
The adaptation of the comic has long been in the works before superfans Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg got a hold of it. After some finessing and fine-tuning, Rogen and Goldberg were able to develop the series for AMC with the help of "Breaking Bad" producer Sam Caitlin, who is serving as showrunner.
"Preacher" is set to premiere this Sunday, May 22 on AMC, with a Chris Hardwick-hosted, fan-driven talk show to air right after its opening and finale episodes​.
