Disney has released a new special, extended look trailer for "Alice Through the Looking Glass," the sequel to Tim Burton's 2010 fantasy blockbuster.

Mia Wasikowska returns to reprise her role as Alice Kingsleigh, who is drawn back to the magical realm of Underland when her friends -- namely the "Mad Hatter" (Johnny Depp) and the "White Queen" (Anne Hathaway) -- find themselves in trouble with the "Red Queen" (Helena Bonham Carter) and her new enforcer, "Time" (Sacha Baron Cohen).

Directed by James Bobin (Flight of the Conchords, The Muppets), the 3D film, which also features a voice performance by the late Alan Rickman, will be heading to theaters this month on May 27 -- and in case you were wondering, producer Tim Burton would prefer moviegoers watch the film on IMAX.

When Alice wakes up in Wonderland she must travel through a mysterious new world to retrieve a magical scepter that can stop the evil Lord of Time before he turns forward the clock and turns Wonderland into a barren, lifeless old world. With the help of some new friends, Alice must also uncover an evil plot to put the Queen of Hearts back on the throne.
