Emma Roberts and Dave Franco become prisoners of a sketchy online game in the newly-released trailer for the high-stakes thriller "Nerve," directed by "Catfish" producers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who previously helmed "Paranormal Activity 3 and 4."

Based on a book by Jeanne Ryan and adapted by screenwriter Jessica Sharzer (American Horror Story), the film sees Roberts and Franco as two strangers who are suckered into playing a popular online game where users get to monitor their every move and control their fortunes. It's like a public game of "truth or dare, minus the truth." And where the dares become increasingly dangerous and costly.

Co-starring Juliette Lewis, Emily Meade, Miles Heizer, Kimiko Glenn and Colson Baker (Machine Gun Kelly), "Nerve" will be arriving in theaters July 27th.

synopsis:
Industrious high school senior, Vee Delmonico (Emma Roberts), has had it with living life on the sidelines. When pressured by friends to join the popular online game Nerve, Vee decides to sign up for just one dare in what seems like harmless fun. But as she finds herself caught up in the thrill of the adrenaline-fueled competition partnered with a mysterious stranger (Dave Franco), the game begins to take a sinister turn with increasingly dangerous acts, leading her into a high stakes finale that will determine her entire future.
