A fractured memory can have a strong effect on your consciousness. Or at least that seems to be the message behind "Remainder," a new mind-bending thriller about a nameless London man who, after surviving a freak accident, suffers severe memory loss, only to later have bizarre visions of a former life he doesn't recognize. With the help of a hired visual interpreter, he reenacts his visions in the hopes of unlocking long-lost secrets buried deep within his subconscious mind.

English actor Tom Sturridge (Far from the Madding Crowd) stars in this stylish adaptation of the cult 2005 mystery novel by British author Tom McCarthy.

Acclaimed visual artist Omer Fast is making his feature-length directorial debut with the film, which also stars Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife), Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey), and Arsher Ali (Four Lions).

"Remainder," which premiered to strong reviews at last year's BFI London Film Festival, will be released in the U.K. on June 24th. The film doesn't have a North American release date, but U.S. viewers can still enjoy its newly-unveiled UK trailer, above.

synopsis:
Hit by a falling object in a freak accident, an unnamed man (Tom Sturridge) awakens from a coma with a large compensation settlement and his memory gone. As precious fragments return, he uses his wealth to physically reconstruct the visions, leading him to an unsolved crime and the secret of his undoing.
