Music was her life -- unfortunately, her singing ability wasn't up to snuff.

Check out the brand-new U.S. trailer for "Florence Foster Jenkins," the bittersweet dramedy, starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, and Big Bang Theory's Simon Helberg, about the remarkable (and inspirational) true story of an early 20th century New York heiress (Streep) who became notoriously known as "the worst singer in the world" after venturing into a self-sustaining career in operatic singing.

Directed by acclaimed British helmer Stephen Frears (The Queen, Philomena), "Florence Foster Jenkins" also stars Christian McKay, Nina Arianda, and Rebecca Ferguson.

The film is set to open in the U.K. on May 6th and will be hitting U.S. theaters on August 12th.

synopsis:
FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS is the true story of the legendary New York heiress and socialite who obsessively pursued her dream of becoming a great opera singer. The voice she heard in her head was beautiful, but to everyone else it was hilariously awful. Her "husband" and manager, St Clair Bayfield, an aristocratic English actor, was determined to protect his beloved Florence from the truth. But when Florence decided to give a public concert at Carnegie Hall in 1944, St Clair knew he faced his greatest challenge.
