If Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees can combine their respective horror franchises together for one horror movie, then why not those creepy ghosts from "The Ring" and "The Grudge"? Of course, it was bound to happen eventually.

Check out the newly-released Japanese trailer for "Sadako vs. Kayako," the upcoming Japanese supernatural horror thriller that brings together the two pale-skinned demon spirits from the successful J-Horror franchises, "Ringu" (Sadako) and "Ju-On: The Grudge" (Kayako).

The film, which follows a pair of unsuspecting Japanese women (Mizuki Yamamoto and Tina Tamashiro) as they stumble on a mystery death tape, only to get trapped inside an evil haunted house with two sinister ghosts, is directed by Japanese horror meister Koji Shiraishi, whose directing credits include 2009's "Grotesque" and 2005's "Noroi: The Curse."

"Sadako vs. Kayako" is set to open in Japan this summer, beginning June 18th. The film doesn't have a U.S. release date.

synopsis:
A girl (Mizuki Yamamoto) after watching a cursed videotape together with her friend (Tina Tamashiro) in a haunted house, becomes trapped in a conflict between the two murderous ghosts: Sadako Yamamura (from the "Ringu" films) and Kayako Saeki (from the "Ju-On" films).
