Eddie Murphy is displaying his dramatic side in a newly-released sneak peek clip from the upcoming drama "Mr. Church."

Murphy, who hasn't starred in a movie since 2012's "A Thousand Words," will be making his on-screen return with the much-anticipated world premiere of his new film "Mr. Church," which is screening this weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Directed by veteran helmer Bruce Beresford (Tender Mercies, Driving Miss Daisy), "Mr. Church" is a 1960s-set, coming-of-age family drama that centers on a special relationship between an experienced and gifted cook who carefully guards his private life (played by Murphy) and a young inquisitive woman (Tomorrowland's Britt Robertson) who is nursing her cancer-stricken mother.

The film, which also stars Natascha McElhone and was written by television writer/producer Susan McMartin (Mom, Two and a Half Men), doesn't have a release date yet, as

synopsis:
"Mr. Church" tells the story of a unique friendship that develops when a little girl and her dying mother retain the services of a talented cook - Henry Joseph Church. What begins as a six month arrangement instead spans fifteen years, and creates a family bond that lasts forever.
