Due to his critically acclaimed performances in "Birdman" and "Spotlight," Michael Keaton has been on a major roll in the past couple of years. He continues his hot streak with the upcoming film "The Founder," in which he plays businessman-turned-McDonald's mogul Ray Kroc. And, now, we're getting a peek at Keaton in full salesman mode in the film's just-released trailer.

Also starring Laura Dern, Linda Cardellini, Patrick Wilson, and B.J. Novak, the biographical drama will show how a 52-year-old, over-the-hill, milkshake machine salesman (Keaton as Kroc) purchased a then-little-known hamburger restaurant franchise from brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald (portrayed here by Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch) and turned it into the world's largest fast-food chain.

Taking place mainly in the 1950s, "The Founder" is directed by John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks) from a script written by Robert D. Siegel (The Wrestler, Big Fan).

The film is coming to theaters later this year.

synopsis:
THE FOUNDER is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.
