HBO's Game of Thrones: Season 6 — New Spot: 'The Wait Is Over'

added: Tue, Apr 19th '16

With just a few days left until the premiere of the much-anticipated sixth season of "Game of Thrones," HBO has released a new 30-second commercial. And it has Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) uttering possibly the best summary of why the show is such a success: "Wherever you are. Wherever you go. Someone wants to murder you." Yup, that's "Game of Thrones" in a nutshell!

Will Tyrion eventually find himself in a precarious situation, a situation he won't be able to talk his way out of -- for instance, an eye-opening encounter with a dragon? Well, from the looks of things, the answer is yes. But we're not sure who should be more fearful: Tyrion or that damn dragon!

"Game of Thrones: Season 6" will begin airing this Sunday, April 24.

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south, where heat breeds plots, lust and intrigues; to the vast and savage eastern lands; all the way to the frozen north, where an 800-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all will play the 'Game of Thrones.'
