Ellen Barkin is the head of a dysfunctional, crime family in the new trailer for TNT's upcoming drama series "Animal Kingdom," which is the American remake of David Michod's acclaimed 2010 Australian true-crime film of the same name.
Also starring Scott Speedman (Felicity), Shawn Hatosy (Southland), Ben Robson (Vikings), Jake Weary (It Follows), Daniella Alonso (Friday Night Lights), and British actor Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders), the series centers on a Southern California family of roughneck surfers, in which male members are secretly leading a life of crime. Barkin plays the family's matriarch and ringleader.
TV producer/filmmaker John Wells (Burnt, August: Osage County) directs the pilot episode, which is scheduled to screen this week at the Tribeca Film Festival.
The series, which hails from TV producer/writer Jonathan Lisco (Southland, Halt and Catch Fire), will start airing on Tuesday, June 7th on TNT.
