From the network that brought you "Mr. Robot," comes a new provocative drama that takes viewers into the violent criminal underworld of drug cartels.

Check out the new full-length trailer for "Queen of the South," the upcoming Scarface-esque crime series, starring Brazilian actress Alice Braga (City of God, Elysium) as a lowly female drug mule who fights and rises through the ranks of a powerful Mexican drug cartel and ultimately becomes the world's most powerful Drug Queenpin.

Featuring a predominately Latino cast that includes Mexican actress Veronica Falcon, Joaquim de Almeida (Our Brand Is Crisis), Peter Gadiot (Tut), Hemky Madera (Ash vs Evil Dead), and Mark Consuelos (Alpha House), the USA Network series is the English-language remake of the popular 2011 telenovela that starred Mexican superstar Kate del Castillo (aka the actress who introduced Sean Peen to El Chapo).

Also based on the international best-selling crime novel "La Reina del Sur" by Spanish author Arturo Perez-Reverte, "Queen of the South" is slated to air on Thursday nights, beginning June 23 on USA.

synopsis:
QUEEN OF THE SOUTH tells the powerful story of Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga). When her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico, Teresa is forced to go on the run and seek refuge in America, where she teams with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. In the process, she learns the tools of the trade and strategically positions herself to become the leader of the Cartel.
