Picture a future where emotions have been outlawed. Society is now devoid of all feelings and physical contact. So, what would happen to a couple if they manage to succumb to their desires and fall in love? They would be risking everything. That's the type of crazy scenario Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult are facing in the new full-length trailer for the upcoming sci-fi romance drama "Equals."

Directed by Drake Doremus (Like Crazy) and written by Nathan Parker (Moon) from a story by Doremus, the film sees Stewart and Hoult as two expressionless individuals living and working in a "collective" society. Despite initial efforts to avoid temptation, they are drawn together by a natural attraction, which quickly develops into a forbidden romance. Fearing they will be arrested and punished, they decide to escape their utopian community for a life of permanent exile. Hey, ain't love grand?

Executive produced by Ridley Scott and also starring Jacki Weaver and Guy Pearce, "Equals" is scheduled to screen this week at the Tribeca Film Festival. It will be made available exclusively on DirecTV On-Demand beginning May 26 and will then hit select theaters and VOD on July 15.
