A nearly unrecognizable Bryan Cranston is "making history here" as President Lyndon B. Johnson in the new full-length trailer for the upcoming HBO biopic "All the Way."

A dramatic telling of the LBJ presidency, beginning immediately after the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy, the cable movie is an adaptation of the acclaimed 2012 stage play of the same name by Pulitzer-Prize winner Robert Schenkkan, in which Cranston also starred and earned a Tony Award for his turn as President Johnson.

Directed by Jay Roach (Trumbo, Game Change) and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the movie also stars Academy Award-winner Melissa Leo as First Lady "Lady Bird" Johnson, Anthony Mackie as Martin Luther King, Jr., Bradley Whitford as Vice President Hubert Humphrey and Tony Award-winner Frank Langella as LBJ's Southern Democratic rival, Senator Richard Russell.

Co-starring Aisha Hinds, Joe Morton, Ray Wise, and Stephen Root as J. Edgar Hoover, "All the Way" premieres Saturday, May 21, on HBO.

synopsis:
All The Way offers a riveting behind-the scenes look at President Lyndon B. Johnson’s tumultuous first year in office after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Staking his presidency on what would be an historic unprecedented Civil Rights Act, Johnson finds himself caught between the moral imperative of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the expectations of the southern Democratic Party leaders who brought Johnson to power. As King battles to press Johnson while controlling more radical elements of the Civil Rights Movement, Johnson navigates the bill through Congress, winning a landslide victory against Barry Goldwater, but causing the South to defect from the Democratic Party.
