When a boatload of green pigs turn out to be no-good swindlers, it's just enough to make a bunch of happy-go-lucky flightless birds get riled up for a little payback. Check out a new trailer for the upcoming animated 3D comedy "The Angry Birds Movie."

Based on the popular video game, the film focuses on a grumpy, gloomy, bird named RED (voiced by comedian Jason Sudeikis) who is the only bird on an island of flightless fowls annoyed by an unexpected visit from a mysterious ship filled with green pigs. The pigs are at first welcomed by the feathered community. But once they find out that the hogs have stolen their entire collection of priceless eggs, the birds realize that they've made a huge mistake not listening to RED's earlier warnings. So now these now-angry birds are readying themselves to go to war with the pigs by shooting themselves in the air with a giant sling and crashing into the porkers that wronged them.

Directed by animator Clay Kaytis (Tangled, Frozen) and storyboard artist Fergal Reilly (Hotel Transylvania), the film also features the voices of Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage and Sean Penn as a giant-sized, grunting, red bird named Terrance.

"The Angry Birds Movie" flies into theaters on May 20th.

In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride) have always been outsiders.
