Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them — New Teaser Trailer

Offering a much better look at the upcoming "Harry Potter" spin-off prequel, here's the new teaser trailer for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," starring Eddie Redmayne as Hogwarts magizoologist Newt Scamander.

Set in 1920s America, the film sees Newt Scamander (Redmayne) traveling to New York City on a research mission for a new Hogwarts textbook, in which he's categorizing all different types of "Fantastic Beasts." But when some of these magical creatures stored inside his equally magical briefcase accidently break free, Scamander sets off on a citywide search to retrieve them back before they turned an embarrassing situation into a full-blown catastrophe.

In addition to Redmayne, the cast includes Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, and Colin Farrell as a New York wizard named Percival Graves, who is an influential member of the American wizarding world.

Based on the 2001 Harry Potter companion and psuedo Hogwarts textbook of the same name, "Fantastic Beasts" is the first installment of a new prequel trilogy and the first movie J.K. Rowling has ever written for. "Harry Potter" veteran David Yates directs.

"Fantastic Beasts" opens in theaters November 18th.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident...were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
