Here's the teaser trailer for "The Bye Bye Man," a new supernatural horror thriller about a mysterious boogeyman who operates in the shadows where he influences ordinary people to do awful and hideous things, like murder.

The urban legend-based thriller, which seems like a thinly veiled depiction of the fictional Internet character The Slender Man, stars Douglas Smith, Cressida Bonas, Lucien Laviscount with Carrie-Anne Moss and Faye Dunaway. Meanwhile, cult horror actor and contortionist Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth) plays the titular specter character.

Currently scheduled to hit theaters in the fall, "The Bye Bye Man" is directed by indie filmmaker Stacy Title, who is probably best known for helming the 1995 deadly-dinner comedy "The Last Supper."

synopsis:
When three college students move into an old house off campus, they unwittingly unleash a supernatural entity known as The Bye Bye Man, who comes to prey upon them once they discover his name. The friends must try to save each other, all the while keeping The Bye Bye Man's existence a secret to save others from the same deadly fate.
