When a mysterious virus turns grownups into zombie-like murderers, it's every kid for themselves as a group of juvenile delinquents try to survive a terrifying night on a quarantined island. That's the basic setup of "Alone: Don't Grow Up," the British horror thriller from French genre helmer Thierry Poiraud, perhaps best known for directing the 2004 alien horror-comedy "Atomik Circus: The Return of James Battle" with Belgian comic actor Benoit Poelvoorde.
Featuring a young British cast that includes Fergus Riordan, Madeleine Kelly, McKell David, Darren Evans, Natifa Mai, and Diego Mendez, "Alone: Don't Grow Up" earned a Grand Prix award at the 2015 Paris International Fantastic Film Festival.
The thriller, set in an apocalyptic world where a strange plague is causing infected adults to slaughter children, doesn't have a U.S. release date, or a U.S. distributor. But an international trailer has surfaced online, which offers an interesting take on the outbreak horror genre.
synopsis:
