AMC has released a new 20-second promo trailer for "Preacher," the darkly comedic horror series based on the cult 1990s Vertigo comic book series by writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon.

Following the supernatural escapades of an uncharacteristic Texan preacher, Jesse Custer, who is partially possessed by an angel-demon hybrid and travels around Texas with his gun-wielding ex-girlfriend and a drunken Irish vampire, the supernatural show sees Dominic Cooper (a.k.a. Howard Stark from the Marvel movies) in the title role. While Custer's road companions are played by Joseph Gilgun (This Is England) and Ruth Negga (Agents of SHIELD).

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (who directs the pilot episode) are serving as executive producers alongside "Breaking Bad" writer Sam Catlin. The supporting cast on the series includes W. Earl Brown (Deadwood), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchman), Anatol Yusef (Boardwalk Empire), and Tom Brooke (Game of Thrones). Meanwhile, Ian Colletti (from Fox's short-lived series Rake) plays the controversial yet popular disfigured character "Arseface."

"Preacher" premieres Sunday, May 22 on AMC.
