"Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston dons a Texas accent and some rather large prosthetic ears in the new trailer for "All the Way," the upcoming biopic about President Lyndon B. Johnson.

In this HBO film version of Robert Schenkkan's acclaimed stage play, Cranston reprises his Tony-winning role as President Johnson, a Texan Democrat who served as Vice President under John F. Kennedy and assumed the presidency after Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.

The film, directed by Jay Roach (Trumbo, Game Change), focuses on Johnson's turbulent period in the Oval office, during which he dealt with the escalating war in Vietnam, wrestled with the civil rights movement -- led by Martin Luther King, Jr (played here by "Avengers" star Anthony Mackie) -- and faced strong opposition from Democratic rival, Senator Richard Russell (Frank Langella).

And let's not forget about President Johnson's slacks, which was a constant source of frustration, according to the movie's new trailer -- which shows Cranston complaining about his pants and how they don't have enough room for his "nutsack." Talk about a polarizing issue. Hey now!

"All the Way" also stars Bradley Whitford, Stephen Root, and Oscar-winner Melissa Leo as President Johnson's wife, "Lady Bird" Johnson. It's due to premiere Saturday, May 21, on HBO.

synopsis:
All The Way offers a riveting behind-the scenes look at President Lyndon B. Johnson’s tumultuous first year in office after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Staking his presidency on what would be an historic unprecedented Civil Rights Act, Johnson finds himself caught between the moral imperative of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the expectations of the southern Democratic Party leaders who brought Johnson to power. As King battles to press Johnson while controlling more radical elements of the Civil Rights Movement, Johnson navigates the bill through Congress, winning a landslide victory against Barry Goldwater, but causing the South to defect from the Democratic Party.
