The Canadian-produced choir drama "Hear My Song," starring Oscar winners Dustin Hoffman and Kathy Bates, will be making its U.S. debut as a television movie event on CBS in April.
Initially released in Canada and the UK as "Boychoir," the feature film -- which tells the inspirational story of a troubled 11-year-old singing prodigy (played by newcomer Garrett Wareing) and a strict choirmaster (Hoffman) who pushes the boy to strive for excellence while he attends a prestigious boarding school for young gifted choirboys -- was acquired by the Hallmark Hall of Fame with the intention of releasing it on U.S. network television as an original Hallmark movie.
Also starring Debra Winger, Eddie Izzard, Josh Lucas and Glee's Kevin McHale, "Hear My Song" was written by "Source Code" scribe Ben Ripley and directed by acclaimed French Canadian filmmaker Francois Girard (The Red Violin). It makes its stateside debut on Saturday, April 16 on CBS. Watch the film's U.S. trailer, above.

When young Stet arrives at the boarding school that's home to the country's leading boys choir, he's lonely, shunned by the others. He's intimidated by the choir's demanding conductor (Dustin Hoffman), but nurtured by the school's principal (Kathy Bates) and a young teacher (Kevin McHale). Stet's had a challenging childhood, but he's been blessed with a rare talent. He finally finds people who believe in him, who help him find his voice, conquer his fears, and realize his dreams.
