The cable network TNT has released the official trailer for their new summer drama "Animal Kingdom," starring Ellen Barkin, Scott Speedman, and Shawn Hatosy.

Greenlit for ten episodes, the series is the American remake of David Michod's acclaimed Australian crime film of the same name, which told of a family of criminals headed by an iron-willed matriarch.

Swapping the film's original setting of Melbourne, Australia for the sunny hills of Southern California, the drama centers on the Cody family. When his mother suddenly dies from a drug overdose, 17-year-old Joshua "J" Cody (played by British actor Finn Cole; of "Peaky Blinders" fame) is left with no other choice but to move in with his cupcake-baking, nonsense grandmother (Barkin) and four surfing uncles (Speedman, Hatosy, Ben Robson, and Jake Weary). Soon, "J" finds himself being groomed for the family business of robbing jewelry stores and other criminal acts of that nature. Think "Point Break" meets "The Sopranos."

Developed by TV producer/writer Jonathan Lisco (Southland, Halt and Catch Fire), the pilot episode, which is set to screen next week at the Tribeca Film Festival, was directed by Emmy-winning producer-turned-feature director John Wells (Burnt, August: Osage County, The West Wing).

The TNT series is due to premiere on Tuesday nights, beginning June 7th.
