CNN anchor Anderson Cooper gets surprisingly personal in the new trailer for "Nothing Left Unsaid," an upcoming HBO documentary that chronicles the life of Cooper's famous socialite mother Gloria Vanderbilt.

As an heiress to the Vanderbilt family fortune, 92-year-old Gloria had experienced many different types of lives as an artist, a designer, an author, and an actress. She has seen some wild times, which unfortunately also included some devastating family tragedies. Gloria's fourth and last husband, writer Wyatt Emory Cooper, died at age 50 during open heart surgery. Their son, Carter (Anderson's older brother), was only 23 when he committed suicide by leaping off Gloria's New York apartment balcony. Their untimely deaths leave Gloria and Anderson as the only remaining members of their immediate family.

"She's the last person in my family alive," says Anderson in the above preview, who's serving as the film's on-camera narrator. "So, I don't want anything left unsaid between us."

"Nothing Left Unsaid: Gloria Vanderbilt and Anderson Cooper" is directed by acclaimed documentarian Liz Garbus, who previously helmed the Oscar-nominated Netflix documentary "What Happened, Miss Simone?"

The film is scheduled to air on HBO on Saturday, April 9th.
