You don't want to mess with Tarzan, especially on his home turf. Christoph Waltz seems to be learning that the hard way in this new full-length trailer for "The Legend Of Tarzan," which stars a buffed-up Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) as Edgar Rice Burroughs' famed fictional hero.

With a premise that flashes back to his early beginnings in the African jungle, Tarzan (Skarsgard) is now married to his main squeeze, Jane Porter (played by The Wolf of Wall Street's Margot Robbie), and is living a more quiet life in London. However, Tarzan is lured back to his old stomping grounds when Jane, kidnapped by the villainous Captain Leon Rom (Waltz), is taken against her will to the Congo River.

And with more than a thousand of the captain's men waiting to capture Tarzan, he's left with no other choice but to call on his friends for help. Of course, his friends being massive herds of wild jungle animals. Go figure!

In addition to Skarsgard, Waltz, and Robbie, the cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, and John Hurt.

"The Legend Of Tarzan," which is directed by "Harry Potter" helmer David Yates (who's also currently filming the new HP prequel "Fantastic Beasts"), is hitting theaters this summer, beginning July 1st.

synopsis:
It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Alexander SkarsgÄrd) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
