It's the on-screen pairing you didn't know you wanted: Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood are a couple of crooked police officers planning a Las Vegas heist in the new trailer for the upcoming caper dramedy "The Trust."

The Las Vegas-set movie, which is scheduled to make its world premiere next week at the SXSW Film Festival, sees Cage and Wood as two administrative cops working dead-end jobs at the police's evidence department. When they discover a drug dealer has secretly installed a large bank vault inside the freezer of a local grocery store, they come up with a plan to break in and steal its contents. But when things start to take a dive, so do their twisted hopes of the American dream.

Co-starring Ethan Suplee, singer-actress Sky Ferreira, Kevin Weisman, and comedy legend Jerry Lewis, "The Trust" is directed by music video helmers-turned-first-time feature filmmakers Alex Brewer and Ben Brewer, who also wrote the screenplay with Adam Hirsch.

The film will be released exclusively on DirecTV's VOD service on April 14.
