Tom Hiddleston has some unhappy neighbors in the new international red band trailer for "High-Rise," the latest thriller from cult British director Ben Wheatley (A Field in England, Sightseers).

Based on the 1975 novel by acclaimed English author J.G. Ballard (Crash, Empire of the Sun), the film is a hyper-realistic fable, set in the 70s, about a well-to-do London neurologist (Hiddleston) who moves into a new state-of-the-art superstructure, only to discover the bottom-floor residents have succumbed to violent jealousy during an ominous power outage -- as an all-out class warfare breaks out.

Co-starring Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, Jeremy Irons, and James Purefoy, "High-Rise" is set to open in the U.K. on March 18th. It will also open in the U.S. on April 28th.

synopsis:
London, 1975. Robert Laing (Tom Hiddleston) is a young doctor seduced by the lifestyle in a high-rise, an isolated community, cut off from the rest of society in their luxury tower block, and its creator, the architect Anthony Royal (Jeremy Irons). Taking up residence on the twenty-fifth floor, Laing discovers a world of complex loyalties, and also strikes up a relationship with Royal's devoted aide Charlotte (Sienna Miller). After Laing befriends Richard Wilder (Luke Evans), a documentary filmmaker relegated to the second floor who is determined to provoke the class injustices inherent in the high-rise, a dangerous social situation develops and the high-rise eventually fragments into violent tribes.
