It's all fun and games until someone accidently calls the Romanian locals a bunch of "witches." Here's the trailer for "They're Watching," an offbeat found-footage thriller written and directed by Micah Wright, the video-game writer of "Call of Duty: Black Ops II," and Jay Lender, the Emmy-nominated writer of "SpongeBob SquarePants."

The film, starring Brigid Brannagh, David Alpay, Kris Lemche, Carrie Genzel, Dimitri Diatchenko, and Mia Faith, follows an American TV crew working on a "House Hunters"-like reality show as they travel to a secluded Eastern European village and discover the place and its locals have a sinister history of witchcraft.

"They're Watching," which is Wright and Lender's directorial debut, will be arriving in theaters and on iTunes/VOD later this month, beginning March 25th. Watch the trailer, above.

synopsis:
When an American home improvement TV show visits a remote Eastern European village, the young crew thinks the lack of mocha lattés and free wifi will be the worst of their problems. But after their filming interrupts the superstitious villagers' private religious ritual, the situation takes a turn for the homicidal… and when the blood starts flowing, that's when things get really weird. With THEY'RE WATCHING, writer/directors Micah Wright and Jay Lender, cartoon industry survivors, turn a classic horror premise upside down to create a fresh, funny twist on the genre.
