It's the story of the real "Good Will Hunting." British actor Dev Patel, of "Slumdog Millionaire" and "The Newsroom" fame, portrays real-life Indian math genius Srinivasa Ramanujan in the trailer for the 1913-set biographical drama "The Man Who Knew Infinity."

Based on the best-selling historical book by Robert Kanigel, the film recounts the life of the 25-year-old, self-taught prodigy who was regarded as one of the greatest math minds of the 20th century.

Ramanujan was working as a lowly shipping clerk in India when world-renowned English mathematician G. H. Hardy (played by Oscar-winner Jeremy Irons) arranged for him to study at Cambridge University. Having already written journals of mathematical theorems, of which many were considered groundbreaking, Ramanujan was surprisingly inconsistent when it came to intellectually proving his unpublished number theories.

Due to his lack of a formal education -- not to mention, the skepticism of Cambridge scholars, Ramanujan had to rely on Hardy for guidance, and the two men form an unlikely partnership -- a partnership that wound up having an enormous impact on the dynamics of math.

Co-starring Toby Jones, Jeremy Northam, Stephen Fry and Devika Bhise, "The Man Who Knew Infinity" was adapted and directed by Matt Brown. It is set to be released on April 29th.
