A new "10 Cloverfield Lane" commercial, which premiered during Sunday night's airing of The Walking Dead's midseason opener, offers a bit more footage from the so-called secret film project from executive producer J.J. Abrams.

Though not necessarily a direct sequel to the found-footage monster flick "Cloverfield," "10 Cloverfield Lane" is nonetheless said to be taking place in the same universe. In a statement last month, Abrams described the film as a "blood relative" to the 2008 blockbuster. Though to what extent hasn't yet been determined.

The 60-second extended spot starts with showing actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead as she wakes up from an accident with a badly injured leg. She's handcuffed to a wall of an underground bunker and is told by a mysterious armed man (John Goodman) that the outside world is unsafe and that "everyone outside of here is dead." Winstead soon meets another man (Newsroom's John Gallagher Jr.) who claims to have broken his arm while trying to get inside the underground shelter. It just reinforces the message that the world is not what she remembers -- and who's to say, a massive alien monster isn't galloping around above them?

"10 Cloverfield Lane," which is directed by first-time feature director Dan Trachtenberg (he's the guy from the now-defunct video podcast "The Totally Rad Show," who helmed the 2011 viral short film "Portal: No Escape"), is set to open on March 11th.
