The life of 19th-century Chinese martial arts master Wong Fei Hung has been depicted in numerous films before, most notably in the Jackie Chan classic "Drunken Master" and the popular Jet Li-starrer "Once Upon a Time in China." His story is once again the basis of a new Chinese action film, "Rise of the Legend," which is concentrating on the folk hero's early years as a young fighter seeking justice.

Rising Taiwanese star Eddie Peng (Tai Chi Hero, Unbeatable) is the latest actor tackling the iconic role, as he shares the screen with martial arts veteran Sammo Hung as a ruthless warlord who, since murdering the hero's father in cold blood, has taken control over his village.

Directed by Roy Hin Yeung Chow, "Rise of the Legend," which premiered in China in late 2014, is just now getting a theatrical release in the States. It opens in select theaters on March 11th. In the meantime, you can check out the film's new U.S. trailer, above.
