Tim Roth is remarkably level-headed during a tense car ride to Mexico in the U.S. trailer for the gun-smuggling thriller "600 Miles."

Roth, who was just seen in Quentin Tarantino's snowbound western "The Hateful Eight," plays an unflappable American ATF agent who, while investigating a Mexican gun-running cartel, is captured and taken to Mexico by an amateur Mexican gun smuggler, played by Kristyan Ferrer (Sin Nombre). How Roth ultimately gains the kid's confidence seems to be the crux of the movie.

Co-written and directed by first-time filmmaker Gabriel Ripstein (son of the renowned Mexican director Arturo Ripstein), "600 Miles" premiered to strong reviews at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival, where Gabriel walked away with the Best First Feature Award.

"600 Miles" opens in select theaters this Friday, February 5th.
